The Tentipi Golv 5 Comfort is a versatile, easy-to-use floor for size 5 tipis. This guide covers fit, features, and trade-offs to help you decide.
Quick Answer
The Tentipi Golv 5 Comfort is a practical, all-season floor for any size 5 Tentipi tipi, offering easy setup and multiple opening options. Choose it if you want a durable, hassle-free groundsheet without the need for a U-shaped opening.
Why the Comfort version might be enough
The Golv 5 Comfort shares the same core construction as the Pro version, so you get the same reliable base for your tipi. The main difference is the lack of a U-shaped opening, which is a feature some campers use for stove pipes or to create a vestibule. If you don't need that flexibility, the Comfort saves you money without sacrificing durability.
How the four zippers work
The four zippers on the Golv 5 Comfort allow you to open the floor in various ways. You can roll back a section for ventilation, create a small entry point, or fully open one side for cleaning. This makes the floor more adaptable than a simple fixed groundsheet, especially if you like to adjust your setup based on weather or activity.
Setup and packing convenience
One of the standout features of the Comfort floor is that it stays attached to the tipi during setup and packing. You don't need to disconnect it when folding the tent, which saves time and reduces the risk of losing parts. This is a big plus for campers who value efficiency.
Decision Rules for Choosing the Golv 5 Comfort
- If you own any size 5 Tentipi tipi: The Golv 5 Comfort fits all size 5 models, so you can confidently buy it for your tipi without worrying about compatibility. Check your tipi model to confirm it's size 5 before ordering.
- If you don't need a U-shaped opening: Since the Comfort lacks the U-shaped opening, it's best for campers who don't plan to install a stove pipe or create a vestibule. If you do need that feature, consider the Pro version instead. Assess your typical camping setup to see if a U-shaped opening is essential.
- If you value quick setup and packing: The floor stays attached during setup and packing, saving you time and effort. If you prioritize convenience, this is a strong selling point. Think about how often you set up and take down your tipi—this feature pays off on frequent trips.
Product Facts
- Golv 5 Comfort: The Golv 5 Comfort fits all Tentipi models in size 5 and is made from a carefully selected standard material with the same construction as the Pro version. This means you can use one floor across multiple size 5 tipis, and you get Pro-level durability at a lower price point.
Golv 5 Comfort - Golv 5 Comfort: It has four zippers that allow you to open the floor in different ways, but it lacks the U-shaped opening option of the Pro version. The zippers give you flexibility for ventilation and access, but if you specifically need a U-shaped opening for stove pipes or a vestibule, you'll need to consider the Pro.
- Golv 5 Comfort: The floor automatically stays in place during tipi setup because it doesn't need to be disconnected when packing. This simplifies setup and takedown, making it a great choice for campers who want a faster, more streamlined process.
