We used it last weekend on a patch of rocky ground and the base kept the fire pit perfectly stable the whole evening. No sinking or wobbling at all, even after a few hours of heat.

We set this up on a rocky patch of forest ground where I was worried about scorching the moss, and it kept everything stable and protected. The stand really does stop the fire pit from sinking into soft terrain, which was my main concern. Solid piece of kit.

The base frame kept the fireplace from sinking into the snow during our entire weekend trip on the mountain, which was exactly what I was worried about. It also sits steady enough that it won't tip over on uneven ground, and I like that it protects the grass underneath. Solid piece for the price.
