When to repair vs replace
Small tears, punctures, and worn seams can be repaired with the Reparationskit Event. If the canvas is extensively damaged or the fabric is rotten, replacement is the safer option.
The kit works on Event tent fabric only. It is not intended for other Tentipi models or non-Event materials.
Diagnosis and repair steps
- Symptom: A visible tear, hole, or worn area in the Event canvas that allows water or wind to pass through.
- Likely cause: Sharp object impact, abrasion against a pole or rock, or age-related fabric fatigue at stress points.
- Corrective action: Clean the area around the damage. Cut a Reinfohex Pro patch slightly larger than the tear. Apply textile glue to the patch and press firmly onto the inside of the canvas. Reinforce the edges with kraftband. Let cure for at least 12 hours before use. Test the repair by gently pulling the edges after curing. If the patch lifts, repeat with a larger patch or replace the canvas.
- When to stop or choose another option: If the tear is longer than 15 cm, located on a major seam, or the surrounding fabric is frayed or rotten, do not attempt a field repair. Replace the canvas or consult a professional seamstress.
